(3) 16:9 is not a good aspect ratio for that. For example 2x 1080 = 2160 (height) while the middle one would be only 1920 pixels high.

Completely forgot about this..I guess there would be no way to remedy it with a Ips 30" in the middle and 2 1080 27" on the side...still a 400 pixel difference, regardless of eyefinity that still seems to me like it would be a pretty cool setup you get the wide and the tall, and your main viewport is still an entire screen, not on a bezel.

Well, no common existing aspect ratio is good for that kind of display arrangement as you would need to have 1:2 aspect ratio for it to work.

If you do not want to have eyefinity just large central screen and auxiliary screens on the sides then something in the ballpark of approx 40'' in the middle would do the trick.

This is 28'' 4K landscape + 2x 23'' in portrait, all 16:9 aspect ratio.

Eyefinity has some issues mixing portrait and landscape displays, not to mention the mess of trying to mix flipped portrait with normal portrait, unless it has had some significant improvements since I last tried stuff like that.

I couldn't get it to do mixed last I tried a couple days ago...The reason for the middle portrait being nice in my opinion is you get the full tall image. When you run landscape eyefinity everything is super squished and stretched. Very ugly imho...I wouldn't use landscape for anything other then maybe a racing or sim game.

Prefer to have just 4 large screens. Making use of the extra monitors i already had, but would definitely downgrade to 4 maximum.

1 Very large screen up top is a must.

3 equal monitors across the bottom.

i plan to get 2 more 4k screens at the bottom and clear the smaller monitors.

Hello all. I'm new to posting here, but lurked for a few years.

2 Crossfire 404k 40" 4k monitors
1 Gateway 22"

Powered by a VisionTek Radeon HD 7750 Eyefinity 6

Im heavily into IT and stock/option trading so I don't do any gaming on my system. I have an Xbox360 when I feel that need.

If you notice the "desk" is actually one of those folding 8 foot banquet tables. No one makes a desk wide enough and cheap enough to fit two large panels. Im contemplating a third monitor, but even this table is running out of room.

I am presently using three Dell 24" Ultrasharp 1920 X 1200 monitors in SLI surround (5760 X 1200) . I am thinking about getting a largeish (about 40") 4K curved monitor instead or perhaps the 4K and also use one of my Dells as a second monitor.
For gaming I love surround and in fact I also just keep it set up that way to work with Outlook, Publisher, Excel, perhaps a browser Etc all open at the same time.
I am just not finding the monitor that really lights my fire. I do not want to go any smaller than 40" as I am so used to the three 24" screens that even 40" sounds small.
We are just past the dawn of a new monitor standards age and we are finally getting the GPU's to run them. (I will go with a pair of the new 1000 series NVIDIA GPU's when they are available).
One thing I do not like is the old 1080p aspect ratio no matter the resolution.

Anyone else considering making the change from three in surround to a larger 4 or 5 K wide screen?
Any recommendations? This is what I basically have now although my present monitors are newed.

So I recently purchased an Asus PG279Q. My old monitor was a Catleap 27". I want to finally move to having an additional monitor. My desk doesn't really have enough space to have both the Asus and Catleap side by side in landscape. Because of this, I'm thinking about having the 2nd monitor be in portrait mode. My options are to either debezel the Catleap and make some kind of Vesa mount on it, or to buy something like a 24" Dell.

My main question is I don't know how to go about mounting this. Should I get a single monitor arm, leave the Asus on it's factory stand and somehow put the 2nd monitor on the arm? Does anyone know of a good dual monitor stand that can hold a 27" in landscape and either a 27" or a 24" in portrait?

I'd want something like this but possibly staggering the bezels to hide part of the 2nd monitor's bezel.

Good setup for Portrait , Landscape 4k, Portrait ? - Want to go bigger

Currently I have

Dell 2007fp 20" 1200 x 1600 (portrait) + HP3065 30" 2650 x 1600 (Landscape) +1200 x 1600 (portrait)

Its really nice to have the wing monitors, they do not require the space of having 3 x 30". Also all three screens are the same height so everything lines up nice.

I want to got a bit bigger on main center display, maybe 42", and definitely 4k. But I want the side monitors to match the resolution vertically and if possible line up bezel wise.

Is there a combo like 23" x 42" x 23" that would work? What would the side monitors but running at? would they look strange?

3840×2160 would be main resolution? so 2160 would have to be the portrait height of the side monitors. But there does not seem to be a 2160 width. Can i force something to that resolution will it look bad? how about lining up the screens so that they are the same height. I want this for gaming but I do CAD for a living, so if it is TV it has to be a good clean display for text!

I am thinking 1600x 2560 monitor turned portrait + 3840x2160 + 1600x 2560 monitor turned portrait.. The side monitors I would custom resolution to 1600 x 2160 to match the 4k height. Am I going the right direction with this?

Thanks!! R
