Do we have a world's exclusive here ?
Can we conclude from this transcript from Activision's customer support, submitted via email to us by Pelle C a.k.a. Keyboarder, that they knew on beforehand that IWNet was going to give issues ?

Have a look at these sentences:
"Please remember that this game is peer to peer and that the way in which the game works was told to the public prior to release."

"As far as the last [above] statement of my last communication, take it as just what I said. In such an environment there are bound to be issues such as those you are experiencing. "

Is this a confession ? Read the full transcript below !

Remember to keep it civilized, folks.

Its really not as bad as everyone is making it out to be.
Exaggeration much?

I think some people are reading what they want to read.
I can see why people are disappointed though, I remember playing on realism servers in cod4. Those were pretty awesome.
I am very surprised that, that their customer support services have such poor written communication skills. There's a way to manipulate words so fit their needs, so that IW's problems becomes the customer's fault. That customer service agent used none of those tactics or good business communication skills to retain that customer.

Obviously if they have big enough customer base then why bother with one? However it's just not good business sense.

As for IW's problems, yes they are tolerable. By that I mean if you meet a cheater, or IW can't find the game you want, or lag, you just exit out and try to find a new game. However that sometimes takes a while before getting to what you want. I've personally shut the game down just because it couldn't find the game type, and map I wanted to play for minutes of searching.

Lag ftl.

Personally I like to play hardcore. However, some maps are just not fun in that mode. I don't want to have to retry and retry again just to find a better map in that mode. Even after I join I gota deal with lag and cheaters.

Did you read the entire thing or just the two sentences? It wasn't taken out of context, and he owned them pretty hard at the end, all while being polite. That man gets +1 e-cookie from me.

Oh please, we all knew IW.Net was a pathetic system in the first place. It does what it's suppose to do though, and fairly well for what it works with.... P2P.

If you want ideal and competitive play conditions then obviously CoD:MW2 is not the game to focus on.

It's a heck of a casual game though. Just not my taste. I mean come on, 6v6 S&D....... and I can't even play on a map that I want to, when I want to....

EVERYONE KNEW IT WAS FLAWED, don't act like you thought it was going to be perfect.

If you bought the game live with it, but don't expect Activision or IW to spend much time and resources on improving it.
IWNet is great for joining a pug quickly, it's almost instant for me. Other than that, sometimes it bugs out and kicks you out of a party, or just drops you for no reason. It lacks every feature besides "Join" and "Select Mode".
9/10 I'm paired with someone in another country... there just aren't enough people playing for there to be good hosts and the ones that do host need to understand their internet speed is garbage.
The problem is that the people in populated areas have great service, while everyone else can barely play the game.

Its like that, only the IWNET coverage is a lot worse, and everyone not in the US is screwed.

I say class action lawsuit. Either fix the game or give us our money back.

Or.... be smart, and don't buy the game on release day like the true boycotters did.
I'm still on the fence about this game, but leaning towards not getting it, at least until it comes down significantly in price.

BTW, the coverage chart that you posted was epic.

I never bought it. My roommate did, and now he's back to playing CoD4 because the servers are too laggy.

Lul I was thinking that exactly when I was reading it.

I personally bought it for the single player, and bought l4d2 for the mutliplayer. However, bot mw2 single and multi are just mehh. Fun but not even 30 bucks fun. We'll see for the next one, if IW want to keep pc gamers as customers or not.

I don't care if they don't add dedicated servers. Matchmaking p2p works fine for me, no issues with "lag". In the kill cams, I might notice It (due to aiming).

If they add it via a update, then that will make things better. I like playing with the same people over and over again (not being sarcastic).

i think the customer had more knowledge then the customer support (no surprise there) to put it short,

Customer support: theres bound to be problems, can i have your dxdiag, whats your isp.
Customer: *** u on about i orderd a pizza an hour ago, and it wasnt what i orderd? quit with the generic response

Someone want some cheese with that whine. Yes, that was stupid. To my point, I never have lag and I'm on your basic cable internet, so I don't know why people are complaining. Maybe they are still trying to squeak by on their 1mbps DSL lines? That being said, multiplayer is just too flashy and bling bling for my liking. COD4 was far better. Also, how is admitting there will be problems with P2P admitting failure before-hand? My car came with a warranty, they were admitting beforehand that it's going to explode any day now! Blah, this is news? Must be in the same vein of Fox News.

Incorrect analogy. This is more like your car coming without any tires, and people complain that there are no tires and that they can't drive the cars, and the car company admits earlier that there might be issues if they make cars without tires.

More like they drive the cars and wonder why the ride is so rough.

Those emails were pretty good though. Pelle wasn't rude at all, but he owned that support tech in the end.
