I've crashed more then i've ever crashed on my xfired 4670.. Im thinkin of exchanging my other 4830 for this http://microcenter.com/single_produc...0298237#rebate ..

Also.. When i received my other 4830 from Newegg.. it was slightly shorter then the one i bought from microcenter? Its weird...

Err.. What are you asking?
If you get a 4850 and crossfire it with the 4830 you have now, you'll still only have 4830 crossfire speeds.
Well, i've never had problems this much since i replaced my 2x 4670. I replaced them to see if i'll get a better fps, and a bit cooler units.. but so far, this 4830, had been crashing my system since i xfired them today. In total, i've crashed atleast 8 times.. 3-4 times during playing age of conan. 2-4 times after exiting aoc after playin about an hour.. once i exited it crashed my computer. and while im playin, i would freeze up for about 4-5 seconds, then it will play again, then gets laggy for a bit.. I dont understand.. my 2x 4670 1gb 128b worked so much well then these two had..

I could be mistaken but I think you're wrong. Xfire is not the same as sli, and it doesn't down clock the higher (unless they have different kinds of memory, gddr3, gddr5, etc.) but each unit can process data at their own set clock speeds. 4850 and 4830 both having gddr3 should mean they can do nothing but help each other out.

I personally have xfired a 4850 with a 4830 and there was most definitely an increase in performance, though not huge as the power difference between the two isn't all that huge to start with at same clocks.

Yes, I know I didn't explain it in detail, but SLi and Crossfire work similarly.
Crossfire will not drop the clocks in a conventional sense, but since Crossfire splits rendering the screen vertically, meaning, one card does the top half, one card does the bottom half, the faster card will render faster, but will have to wait for the slower card to render the bottom half before the entire combination will display a frame...
It gets complicated, and there are differences between SLi, where the two cards have to be the same model... But they are basically the same. If you want equal performance between cards, you should get the same model card.
