ho wwell should i be able to do with the stock Heatsync?
im new to OC
so im still waiting on my MSI Neo4-f board
You should be able to get at least 2.6 (2.7-2.8 more likely) with the stock HS/F. That's Athlon FX territory.

i got 3.0 with the stock H/S. high temps though 55c load
mm lol stability and safety would be key for me
now do u really see a performance boost with that kind of oc?
2.7?
that seems likely where i would like to go =)
yes, you'll see a nice speed increase. i put my 3700+ at 2.6Ghz for 24/7 use on the stock HSF. helped a lot in CSS and BF2 frame rates, especially in keeping the minimum frame rate in BF2 a lot higher than the stock speeds did.

Hell yes you would see a performance increase. An fx-55 ($800 retail) is only at 2.6 and they sell for that much for a reason. Also, did you get a "KABQE" stepping like you mentioned above or is that just something you've heard of? I've never heard of a KABQE
i dont know

its listed on the processor itself
i have it sitting right here infront of me

ADA3700DAA5BN
KABQE
Must be a new stepping. I have a new amd 3700+ just sitting next to me too. AND GOD ITS IRRATATING, and I too am waiting on my DFI nf4 SLi-D Motherboard to come! I have a KAB2E stepping CPU (same version as The Wax Shop) by the way! I hope you like it here at OC.net, where all good people. Most of the time that is!

You didn't need a new cable, all you needed was a little adapter. I ran my 3700 at 2.86 ghz on the stock cooler, but you'll find it too noisy after awhile. If you're ok with the noise, it's a decent little cooler. I just wanted to step on it after listening to the fan whine for a month or 2.

well as of right now
i run an actual room fan next to my comptuer tower side panel open

it sodd
i try to search for the KABQE Steeping
and every sitetalkin aobu tit
is in some weird language
im lost =(
i hope i dont have some super crapo version =(

I highly doubt you have a crappo version. AMDs in general OC fairly well (even the crappo ones) and some special chips (lately the 3700+ Sandy, of course the Optys, and the Venices) are capable of amazing things. 2.85 GHz is insane for an OC on the stock cooler.
3700 has 1mb L2 cache?
lol i didnt evne knwo that
just foudn it on a website, now im searching for anythign containing the
ADA3700DAA5BN
well yes once i get it i plan to play with it =)
maybe nto right away
but i still need to learn about OC'ing
im dumb
