So i came to the conclusion that my CPU is bottlenecking my computer big time, i figured i would of seen a decent increase in performance from my last build but im noticing that i lost performance, my cpu is running 95% all the time in games and what not. I have the 4850x2. So I'm thinking of getting a phenom II 720.

You need to tell us what your last build was before you can make a post like this.

Also I highly doubt that your CPU is bottlenecking your GPU. Maybe if you were running a Pentium D or something but that's still a decent CPU. The only time I can see it bottlnecking THAT GPU is at lower resolutions (1680*1050 and below).

So, what resolution do you play at and what were the specs of your last build?

I had an Radeon 3870, with an older motherboard. I upgrade my mobo, my gpu and im experiencing loss of performance, i'm at a loss.

You should've experienced a gain. You got all the latest drivers and such for mobo, gpu, etc?

Did you reformat your hard drive after installing the new hardware?

If not, therein lies your problem.

As Shift just said, did you actually reinstall Windows after the motherboard upgrade, or do an in-place upgrade? Because in-place upgrades are NEVER stable, I've seen enough to know.

If you haven't already since the upgrades, reinstall windows. When you say you've lost performance, have you actually used the same benchmarks to verify this?
