I got bored on weds' and decited to take out ALL 3.5 bays on my compy. To me, it just took up space. Space that could be used for more important things, like a 1977 Pontiac Bonneville heater core (makes a great watercooling radiator) It took an ice pick, a hammer, and about 3 hours. After I pooped out the rivits, i ended up with a 7*7 empty space. The pics are of the hole its self and one is of the little piece of metal holding the 5.25 bays toughter. Its a little ghetto but still *****en. (btw, this is my first sucessful case mod )

Good first mod. Almost everyones first mod is functional. I remember a long time ago I had a 28.8 modem that would crap out when it overheated and I would have to wait for 5 minutes before I could log back on. I could feel the heat on one of the chips so I did what any moder would do. I went to radio shack and bought a small heatsink and grabbed some silicon thermal compound. I used a rubberband to secure it to the modem. It really worked. The modem would stay connected after the mod. I think it was on a 486 DX2-66
