It just stopped working for no reason. I've had this mobo for about 7-8 months now. I know the ethernet is good since it works fine on my laptop. Is it my mobo or something else that could cause this?

Well ever since I built my rig it has worked completely fine with no problems at all. We had a thunderstorm the night it quit working (a few days ago). When I plug it in, it doesn't even recognize it. It's like there isn't even anything there.

Still not working after using a NIC card. Any ideas?

Yes the green light came on with the nic unlike the onboard. NIC is an intel 10/100/1000.

The green light is only on for the nic card. Not the onboard. What should I look for in device manager? Is it the intel 82801 pci bridge? I have a wifi card that's working fine so that's not it.

I am connected through my wifi card. I need to be able to use my ethernet because I am moving back into my college dorms in a few weeks and there is no wifi there.

And I have an intel nic in my pci slot that lights up when I plug into it. No idea why it's not listed and doesn't work.

That worked! Thank you very much, you've helped me a ton. I took out the wifi, disabled my onboard and it installed when I booted it up.
