OK evryone I have decided to do a little modding to my very plain Black Antec Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129152

I am serious about doing this and would appreciate all the help I can get.

What I plan to do is put a clear window in the side of it. Right now it dosnt matter which side I do it on But as long as I can open up one of the sides.

Im gonna post pics of it right now from all angles.

I dont know anything about case windows but I have plenty of tools to do this with. I want to do my best to keep this real cheap.

ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED

cant tell but can you swing the front open on the bottom?(not the drive bay dorr but under that? and if so is there anything there, ie. a on/off swithc or something, if not then you could put a fan there that way there is straight air flow through your case.. also i see that theres a fan on you side panel already..i wouldn't recommend that being on cuz it looks like its aiming right over your cpu fan..if so then its interupting the air flow from you hsf and maybe be acctually making you cpu run hotter.. hope i was helpful -trey

I have 80mm Inhale fan on front bottom which dosnt open. 80mm inhale fan on side. 120mm exhale fan in back. Thats all the cooling.

Yeah my temps are great. If I was to take of the side fan It will warm up only a few degrees though. I like that idea of window in top. What I was hopin to do is buy evrything I need from the local hardware store b/c right now its kinda diff. for me to order offline.

Side windows can be easily modded to attach any size
of Fan...

And for the fan grill I was thinking you can get this fan light
and then goto your local Home Depot and get some mesh,
and mount it infront of the fan light!

The Side window size would be determined by how big the
side of your case is... The windows that I showed you have
all the measurements on the site...

In that case you can buy sheets of Plexi or Lexan from
Home Depot for a good price. The only problem is that
you will have to find a way to mount the Plexi.

Yeah that looks pretty awesome.... MY favvorite color is Blue so maybe one of those in blue. so would I be doing any hacking/sawing to put this in?

EDIT

So the kits from those sites are easy to install than just buying plexi etc?

why not bend some perspex (plexiglass) into the correct shape and replace the entire side with it? that would look sweet

Yeah I wish Antec just sold Replacement Side Panels that were clear, but I guess that wouldnt be much of a challenge.

Well, speaking of bending acrylic,I made a nice shroud the other day. Its part of my case mod which will be made public soon.

I will also post up a tutorial if anybody is interested.

Note:Have yet to add the sides of the shroud for lack of acetone/acrylic cement
