My first WC (half done)

Hi guys.

I'm still awaiting my order from petras (misc fittings, yate loon fans, mc-res v2, 7/16" tubing) but I went ahead and jumped the gun early.

I grew so impatient that I actually just ran down to my local Hardware store (in my case, home hardware) and I got some worm-drive clamps and 1/2" tubing.

Luckily for me I already had my MCR320, Apogee GTZ, MCP655 pump, 2x medium speed yate loon fans, plastic Tee Line and a DD fillport.

So I opened up my brand new CM HAF 932, uninstalled the fan, and Installed the rad up top of the case, as most do.

I then cut all of my tubing to size, oriented it the way I wanted to, trying to avoid kinks and everything's going smooth thus far.

I have everything hooked up (cpu-loop only) and I just jump started my PSU (worked like a charm).

My question is, how long should I leak test it for, and should I use the UV dye to help detect leaks?

Also, as this is my first time, how much water should I put in AND, just to confirm -- I have to add the distilled first -- or I will kill the pump, correct?

Any words of advice, tips or anything that you think I may have missed, please feel free to send anything my way...

I'm just about to head in for bed for the night... I would take pics but trust me my blackberry curve can't handle this task.. Will take pics in the morning, hopefully all goes according to plan and I can see how this baby runs. (hopefully 2 yate loons will suffice until my petras order comes in).

1 - I would put UV dye in right away so you can see if there are any leaks.
2 - Fill your system up all the way with distilled water
3 - I wouldn't run your computer, just jump your PSU and run the watercooling system. Have paper towels under each block to catch any leaks.

ok, thanks noah.

Exactly how much distilled am I looking to put in here? Or do I just fill it up until the loop looks full?

Also, not to worry I'm just testing the loop first --- wouldn't want to ruin all my nice hardware... (yet!).

pour as much as you can in while the system is off. then turn on the pump and it will pump it, once you see the level drop turn it back off and fill up as much as you can.

repeat this until it is completely full.
