It suddenly gives a blank screen an doestn't boot up sometimes.
Sometimes it runs an keeps running, but in furmark it goes blank again (not a blue screen)

Think this started after I ran OCCT.

Time for RMA again.

I'll test it again tomorrow with another PSU an see an if not RMA

The most I oced it was 800 adn it wasn't stable so I put it back down to 775.

I never overvolted it. How can this happen. I though overclockin cannot kill a card unless the heat was too much. And the heat on this was at most 90-94 in Furmark

Thats pretty sad, If you end up RMAing it to Zotac let me know how they are handling it, time wise ect. I almost bought one and it would be nice to know how their customer service is.
Seems like a lot 480s are dying quick. Is this a trend???

Yes, please let us know, I'm curious too.

It's a conspiracy. They all have a killswitch built in, and all those are controlled at their HQ by a monkey on crack.

And they said those load temperatures were pefectly fine.......

This is why I always try to avoid cards that can cook my Thanksgiving meal on them

Couldnt have anything to do with how hot they run underload or dare I say sli...
it always seems like a certain item "dies quick or frequently" because noone posts how normal thier item has bene running. they only post when **** breaks.

I gotta agree with this. Same with the ATI driver issues.

However, gotta agree with the faults at high temps. I'm alright with 70-80C on cards, but hot hot 95? Ouch.

This. Nobody creates a thread saying "My new graphics card works as expected." Same thing with drivers. You don't say anything when something works as intended.

Edit: Also, sorry for your loss...

No, your mind is simply recalling times when you read about gtx 480s dying but ignoring all the other threads about other cards dying.
It's one of these biases probably:

I've commented in EVERY SINGLE ATI driver thread. Stating how I have NEVER had an issue with ATI drivers, and that for me, it's always been Nvidia's drivers failing.

I also made a review on how happy I was with my new PSU when it came in. Same thing with my new headphones.

The GOOD reviews are out there. They just don't get the publicity.

SLI isn't to bad try three to get these temps it took 2x 360 rads and one is in the basement otherwise the computer room got to hot, underload they definitely have the ability to heat your house for the winter

Agreed. No problems here with ATI drivers, I'm actually quite satisfied with them.

Well it seems its come back to life. Furmark runs fine
Maube it happens only in the night??

I replaced the TIM with MX-3 (used a card to spread it around evenly) but temps haven't improved at all.

How do i properly lay the TIM an spread it? and how much should i use??

Thanks.

my shiny new sgtx 470 worked fine for a month now neither the seller nor the manufacturer will honour the warranty!
no need for overclocking these cards and using msi afterburner i kept the temps under 65-so i understand how your feeling

What, Why won't they honor the warranty?

Guess you don't buy from Galaxy again right..

Just came back to life, sounds to me like it was user error and not the card, LOL

Dude I've been using high end cards since the Voodoo2 SLi an TNT2 Ultra.

There is something defintely wrong, but not sure what. Maybe the mobo even

But it works fine with the 8500GT, but possibly cos its a low end card.
