Just bought my new system, @ my sig.

Two questions, first of all, does everything look okay?

Second question, I got 3x2GB 1600mhz Kingston rams, but CPU-Z kept showing it at 667. So I went to BIOS & changed it from 1333 to 1600, did I do anything wrong?

Im using the stock fan, but already ordered a good fan, should arrive soon. Thats why i didnt OC the processor yet.

Any help appreciated !

That looks fine - and yes, some ram SPD sets it at 1333 for some reason, you just hav to change it to 1600mhz manually. (my 1600mhz ocz set itself at 1333 yet my g.skill set itself at 1600
)

I know the voltage is prolly on auto, but that voltage is quite high for stock speeds (see mine). So you can either set the voltage offset and - something, or leave it and OC it when you get your other cooler.

Also, isn't that ram specced to run at 9-9-9-24 not 27?

edit: just noticed the 3x2gb sticks thing
not a massive problem tbh

Looks good to me, normally you have to set the ram for the rated speed anyways so dont worry you didnt do nothing wrong. Ive never heard of that brand of psu though so I cant tell you if its any good or not. Other than that though it looks good, hope you enjoy your new rig.

Remember to multiply the speed by 2.

In the pic, it's at 800mhz, so 800 times 2 is 1600. You're fine =

I just have one curiosity, why are you running three sticks? They are only running in single channel. Your motherboard doesn't support triple channel memory.

I was scratching my head at that one too.

I believe this is too hot, maybe something about voltage?

Most likely a cooling issue. Your voltage, though a little high for that small of an OC, is fine. What type of cooler do you have for it? If it's the stock, I would hold off on OCing for a bit until you can get a proper aftermarket cooler.

EDIT: Also saw you don't have a case listed in your sig rig. Improper airflow can also cause high temps, especially when overclocking.

You mean cooler, right, not just a fan? Which one did you order?

The CM 690II should have sufficient airflow, so it must be the stock cooler.

EDIT: And any answer about the RAM? You do know your motherboard doesn't support triple-channel, right?
