My New System

Well, since june, Ive been working with a laptop barely capable of running most games (Ive upgraded to 2gb RAM)

Im ready to start with my new build. Im still tight on cash so im going to be trying to build with the following components or something similar in price.

Case

Antec Two Hundred

Motherboard

GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM
This one has awesome combo deals with both the processors im considering
($95 with Sempron 140, $102 with Athlon II 240)

ASRock A780GXH/128M
Seems to have a good feature lineup. I think its this years model of the motherboard i worked with last year, I was thrilled by the performance for the price.

Proccessor
Athlon II X2 240
Im Definatly leaning more towards this one. Especially with the GIGABYTE combo deal

Sempron 140

I only want to get this one if i want to pocket some cash towards a upgrade later or a better GPU/RAM. possible unlockable with both motherboards I am considering (I know DO NOT DEPEND ON IT) And from what I can tell most game performance now is mostly GPU dependant.

RAM (ugh...what is with the prices)

Crucial Ballistix 2gb DDR2 800
Im hoping this will give me some wiggle room to overclock with. (even though i got my sempron Le-1250 (2.2ghz) to hit 3.2ghz on stock cooling with an AsRock motherboard and 512x2 Gskill DDR2 667 last year)

Psu

I really need help here Im looking for something under 30 dollars that wont fail in the first week (budget 430w psu = $12)

Video card
Im thinking of something based on one of these

Radeon HD 4350
Radeon HD 4650

Ive seen both doing rather well in some of the newest games on acceptable settings.

Hard drive

Anything that runs sata 7200 rpm
250gb+

Help?

that case is ugly. get the antec nine hundred and two

You need a higher budget if you dont want this computer to be a failure

I picked the Two Hundred because its comparable to the ThreeHundred at a lower price.
Budget, I do not have at this time (unless you can find a demand for straight male prostitutes)

It seems nice for a cheapy- lots of features found in high dollar cases, and looks pretty nice to boot. Im just not sure bout front bezel but its not too bad.

I suggest:
motherboard

DDR3

And the stock cooler is worse than the stock cooler for the x3 720 be.. Its like cut in half.

May be a little more, but its more current. And will be sweet.

PSU, has good reviews. only 350w though.

Do you game?

If not, a 4350 or 3450 would be awesome choices.

I'm sorry but I'm unsure what game you plan to run with this ghetto rig, budget is budget but I'd honestly just hold off. Waiting is painful but the way I see it, you save some mula up and once you got yourself a decent budget the stuff you want to buy now will be even cheaper and the stuff you really would like to buy if you could will be cheaper. In the long run, I think waiting will be more cost effective less in a month after you get this together you want to have to upgrade just to play [a fresh new title here] that requires [insert something this system can't handle/doesn't have here].
yeah i have the US2H board its a really good board and im happy but i would go for the UD2H instead it supports DDR3 and its almost identical to the US2H and its only 10bucks more. Here the compare link check it out. Also go for that PSU thats a killer price.!!!

well you do make a good point and now that i think about it radeon hd 4000 cards are probably going to be dropping fast ill see what happens i built that sempron so my brother could play halo/halo2 and flashgames but now he got a laptop, if i could get some of the parts back (coolermaster case/500w psu, good motherboard) it would be close to a useable system (not to mention he was getting playable framerates on crysis from a sempron overclocked to 3.2 with 1gb 667 ram- 128 for onboard graphics which were overclocked close to 800mhz)

and as far as use, everyday things as well as some mild gaming (low-medium quality will suffice) with a resolution of 1024x768 for now
