I will never own another board without a clear CMOS button on the back panel

I got the E6300 in a freebie and I just threw it at 430FSB to see if I could get an even 3Ghz out of it. Booted just fine at 1.45v (just set it at that voltage, I'll turn it down if it turns out stable).

Running about 63C load now so I don't have much more room to add more volts. Then again 1.45v is pushing how much I want to run anyway. I only play CS:S afterall

The RAM Tufelhunden sent me hasn't even had a chance to strech its legs, even at 1:1 (DDR2-860). I set it at stock timing for DDR2-1066 (5-5-5-12 2T) but I'll 'fix' the timings to more impressive numbers once I find out if it's stable as it is now

Highly considering it.

But like I said, I really only play CS:S.
I probably will by summer time though

well, either way, it'll be a great way to try more games.

fallout 3, bioshock, left 4 dead... the possibilities, my fellow mushroom lover, are endless

I've been wanting to buy a lot of games (and a lot of upgrades ... second 8800GT ... quad core ... TRUE ... 4GB of RAM ... etc) but between car insurance and 'upgrades' for my car and truck I've been strapped for cash. I absolutely loved the L4D demo and I plan on buying it, but does that really take any benefit from a second 8800GT? I only play at 1680x1050 and the demo ran perfectly fine with me with one 8800GT ...

well, as you can see i have an 8800GT and FWIW i don't think so. i run the game with all the bells and whistles ingame, and never drop below 30fps, even during a horde. usually i'm at 45 in normal action, and 60 or so, when walking around etc (i use vsync). the only reason it's lagging atm is because i GPU fold at the same time but even so it's pretty playable but i've had to drop to 4x AA/AF and i may just cut thje AA to get rid of the spikes. in all other games it's fine - crysis for example hits a constant 20 fps with an ultra high config, and DX9, no AA. fallout 3 i can only get high settings to be playable, with the hd texture pack.

that said i'd definitely be grabbing another one if i were you. other games will work better with the SLI, and the low res and sheer power of the combo should, from what i gather, enable you to get very good frames on most games. sort of like running crysis on a GTX 260 at 1280x1024, if you know what i mean
