Everything looks good.

In a few months, the GPU landscape may look different, but that is a choice you can make when the time comes.

You could probably get away with a ~500w PSU, but it isn't that big of a deal.

You could save some money by getting an Intel Core i7-920 instead of an Intel Core i7-930. Prolimatech's Megahalem Revolution B is a nice heatsink. An NVIDIA GTS450 is about the same performance. Get a GTX460 from Asus. They have cards that aren't standard. They have the special DirectCU (Direct Cooling Unit) which is a much better thermal solution. Corsair's XMS3 DHX RAM is only $89.99 for 4GB. It also has a nice silver look. I never knew there was a brand called SeaSonic that sold PSU's. I think a nice Corsair HX650W would be nice. For thermal paste, get Arctic Silver 5. It's only around $9.99 on Newegg. Cables Unlimited has a nice Anti-Static Wrist Strap. It's the ACC-1400. Just type that in and it will bring you to the product. If you're on a low budget for a case, get an Antec 300 or Antec 900. They aren't the prettiest cases but a little modifying or paint should make it look better. If you're not on low budget, I suggest a Corsair 600T. Lots of cable management. You'll find out if you go to their site (Corsair.com) and go to the Cases and Cooling Section and then look at the 600T pictures they have. You can also look at Newegg. The case a bunch of cable management holes. It also has 2x200mm fans. One at the front and one on top. Hope this help!

I've heard that some people overclocked their Intel Core i7-920 to 4GHz.

It's obviously Corsair, Kingston, Crucial, or GSkill.

I don't see why he would get an Intel Core i7-930 or Intel Core i7-950. He isn't going to game right now anyways. By the time he does, new things like the rumored i9 or a new line of NVIDIA or ATI Graphics Cards should be out by then.

You do realize Intel made the 930 to replace the 920. Only difference in the chips is the overclocking ability and the stock frequency. Plus, most retail stores don't even carry the 920 anymore.

Might want to have A-Data on that list. They got some good sticks with micron d9's, just not popular in the US.
