My trusty IDE drives, salvage?

312 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  DIRTYDUCK
My new rig runs SATA HDD's in RAID0 for OS and a 1TB SATA for storage. Now my old IDE HDD has a load of music/movies/files that I'd ideally like to keep. So I am wondering if I could simply slap it in my rig and if everything would run fine?

Cheers.

Yep, you can use it just fine.
Yes, you should be able to add the HD, and then transfer all of your data onto your new storage drive. After that you could keep it in there, but I personally would make it into an external drive by getting something like this.

Yup, I have a 60GB IDE with some old files on it. Perfectly safe.
