Ill appolagise now for this n00b question......


Right I havnt got a clue tbh when it comes to mem timings.... I have looked about in the section to try and find what im looking for but no luck, Its a simple one for you guys, So Iv got 512DDr pc2700 of standerd cheap ram. What i wanna know is in my bios i can ajust the timings but would it be worth my while ???. If even a slight improvement, If so what timming should i use ??.

Get CPU-Z @ www.cpuid.com it will give up the CAS, RAS etc...
If you discover CAS3 (main timing factor) you'll not get much out of it. If its CAS2.5 you may be able to up the vdimm (RAM voltage) and relax or increase you timings to CAS3 to get it to run at 400Mhz.
YOu may also have to increase the RAS, RAS to CAS, and Tras
Remember the higher or relaxed the number the slower you set it. <<< Slower timings may result in higher buss speed of the RAM.

T (RAS) [7]
T (RCD) [3]
T (RP) [3]
CAS Latency [2.5]

so how do i go about doing the nxt thing? ..... Do i just ajust the CAS 2.5 ?? and touch nothing else ? thx peops
