hi, yes i read the phenom2 guides, still didn't get it

my specs are below, [email protected], 785g mobo, ddr2 667

so i want to oc the nb, but...

1)what is the default multi-speed? is on auto in bios, one guide said 9 another said 10

2)my mobo has not mosfet cooling, should i do this? i know i can't up the volts

3)ocing the nb affects the ram? because my ram is not for oc, so can i do it?

thanks

Shouldn't be overclocking that far on that motherboard
4+1 power phase makes it all the more scary
You might be fine if you're not absolutely pushing the voltage though (for the CPU; the NB is less of an issue, it uses the split single phase and doesn't really take up much power). I do recommend you add mosfet cooling if you plan to continuously use that board at high clocks or voltage.

If you're not using the stock cooler also, stop immediately.

Upping the NB gives out a big effect. The NB makes use of the single power phase (the "1" in 4+1 power phase); since the NB doesn't really consume that much power at all this is fairly safe, there are even a lot of boards that have an 8+1 power phase that OC well. Even a few notches up with the CPU-NB voltage should be fine, but don't overdo it.

but if i up the nb, the ram will up too? since this is the FSB?

my ram is not for oc, just a regular 667 ddr2

No, the NB and RAM are not linked. The only way you up the RAM is if you up the ref. clock from 200Mhz. Since the 965 is a black edition, you can up the Northbridge clock by simply increasing the multiplier.
