Thanks so much for this information can you link me to a over clocking guide on this??Originally Posted by Lefik
120hz 1440p monitors do not exist in a factory configuration, but If you're willing to void the warranty, you can get 120hz pretty easy through OC.
Some monitors that are not entirely guaranteed to hit 120hz, but will get close:
Qnix Q2710
XSTAR DP2710
Shimian QH270
There is also the Overlord x270OC, which is much more likely to hit 120hz, but in my opinion is not worth the extra 500$.
The thread posted by Zero4549 may be the best source, but I am no expert on monitor overclocking. I found it very simple to OC my monitor using the slider in EVGA Precision X, and then checking for artifacts while playing a round of Battlefield.
They are fine panels, but aren't known for overclocking particularly well.
Because you can get similar panels off ebay for 250-400$, usually 300$, I wouldn't get one of those.

Unless they made some recent changes to EVGA Precision, it can't overclock panels, only gpus.

The Qnix/Xstar, Overlord, and a few ultrasharps are your best bet for overclocking.
I wouldn't bother with the overlord, as it's expensive and still "just" a korean panel.
The ultrasharps are nice but very expensive and no guarantee to overclock at all, only get it if you are willing to use it at 60fps and then MAYBE try to overclock it as a bonus.
Thanks so much for your help...
