i dont play cod4. a friend of mine does. he was wanting to know what he needed to play it. since i dont play it, i was calling on some of you who do so you can let me know what he needs to get.

You need to list what else he wants to play...monitor included?

I mean comeon we can setup a single core amd and a 8 series card to max the game well enough...you don't need to spend 1000$ for COD4...if he wants to play the new COD when it comes out etc thats what matters....what power will he need for new games...because a singlecore ain't gonna kick it

I doubt he is building a pc just for one game...

COD4 is an extremely efficient game and doesn't require a $1000 computer. Unless you splurge on a really nice monitor, or maybe two monitors.

Well I play COD 4 using my sig rig so pretty much in terms of graphics a 3870 will do fine.

Heck I can play pretty maxed at low to mid resolutions..a lot has to be answered before a build can be made.

I just priced out an all around gaming rig. This should max out cod4 and leave room for future games. You could also crossfire down the road for more performance.

I added stuff like dvd/hd/monitor since you didn't say if hes reusing anything. All this build would need is a mouse and keyboard to be a completely new build but most gamers are picky with those.
