Hello.

I'm a new user here but not that new to over clocking. I just want to know how far I can push my pc, I'll run through the spec's and hope someone out there can advise me:

AMD 3200+ 2.0ghz (oc'd to 2.25)
2Gb Corsair Value ram (soon to be upgraded)
Asus sata 2 mobo
550w psu
2 x Thermaltake streetfighters (1 front suck in, one back blow out)
1 x Thermaltake Blue Orb

Current cpu temp. Idle 25 c
Mobo temp 26 c

Both temps are with Streetfighters on lowest speed settings.

Any advice would be muchly appreciated. I also have a question..........

I see a lot of people on here adjusting the Mulitplier to gain performance but mine does not seem to work.........I adjust the multiplier and 'save & exit' bios but when i go back to check the settings have gone back to default! Any ideas? I currently run 2.25 by adjusting the FSB.

Hi cellador and welcome to the forum.
It's better to fill your system specs by clicking here. This way you won't have to include them in every new thread.
Concerning how far you can push your machine, please take a look at this link... you'll have a good amount of reading to do but I'm sure many of your questions will be answered.

thankyou for the advice and the link. I'll have a butchers and hopefully learn to tweak some more!

You might want to check this thread to see what setups similar to yours have performed. Once you fill in all your specs you'll get better answers

Btw... 25C is pretty low for a 3200+, even with the couple extra fans. It looks like your chip has some potential to it.

Were you trying to use a higher or lower cpu multiplier? Some motherboards will show you a higher multiplier in the BIOS, but your cpu has those multipliers locked and it will not actually be applied. Is this what you tried to do?
