Upgrading my rig this winter... Sticking with my Q6600, and the ram i have currently is 800mhz with 1.8v ddr2. Reason for upgrading is my mobo isn't saving OC settings to CMOS. This board was recommended to me EP45-UD3P. Which is a sick board. My question is whether or not i should upgrade to a board that uses DDR3 instead of ddr2? And just a random question when a board says that it has 4 sockets for ram at 1.8v is the 1.8v the minimum voltage or the only voltage it can use?

thanks and appreciate you guys' knowledge.

1.8 is just the norm. It can be more or less.
I concur

DDR2 RAM voltages can usually range from anywhere between 1.8v - 2.2v depending on your overclock, timings and whatnot

UD3P = Greatest board for LGA 775 OCing on the face of the planet

That board will support just about any set of RAM out there, but go with some G.SKILLs. They seem to do the best.
Try to land some Pi's, and if you have NewEgg, you might be able to land a sick deal in the coming days
. I've been recommended to get either the Pi's or these.

The Q6600 should be able to go fairly high with that kind of setup right there.

Also, might wanna pick up a new card and set that 8800GT as a dedicated PhysX for fun, because that board supports two cards
