I haven't come here for so long now, I am so sorry if this isn't the area to ask.
My friend asked me to build him a better computer. Even better than mine his budget is $300

And I found these; do you think that these are good choices?
Even though I am building someone a PC, I am building him a comp that I want for myself. I am planning to build a 64 bit Windows.

You don't need the 20-24 pin adapter since the motherboard only uses a 20 pin connector. You'll save about ten bucks there. Does your friend really need a modem? I didn't know that people are still using dial-up
However, I really doubt that you can put together an entire system for less than $300 with the specs you have so far. Even if you get the cheapest possible case, that'll still run you $30-40 and you'll probably end up having to buy a new power supply since the ones that normally come with cases die fast, especially if it's the ones that come with $30 cases.

How about another processor? The Sempron line is more budget friendly. Check this out at newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819104249 It's about half as cheap as the 3000+ and still has 64-bit support.

Good luck keeping this project within the budget!

yeah u right bout the pin
Yeah he is still using dialup. And I got to find a board that has video and sound.

Is the AMD Sempron 64 2600+ better than AMD XP 3000+?

he got a DREAMER Case so he ddoesn't need another.

I couldn't find a cooler that carry a descriptions Sempron 64 in the capability.
They all listed as "AMD Sempron Socket (754)" or "all AMD Sempron Socket (754)".
I am unsure about this cooler I choose. Do you think it will work?
