Need help choosing new 24" display

Hello all, i'd like to upgrade my monitor when i get back to the states, and i figure what better time then black friday sales. I've recently narrowed my very novice experience level monitor choices down to these 2:

Samsung T240HD 24" Widescreen
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001280

Samsung 2494HM 24" Widescreen
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001337

I'm having a tough time deciding so I thought i'd ask the pros. I'd be using this for movies, games (various CoD versions and WoW), some slight photoshop/image editing, and general web browsing. Basically the whole spectrum. Which would be the best bang for my buck? Any other suggestions. I'm pretty partial to Samsung, but am open to a few others. My budget would at this point be no more then $300 if I can help it (not including shipping).

I like the idea of being able to have the HDMI if i wanted it, but its not a HUGE deal. I just want a display that will look good doing a variety of tasks and has versatility.

If it matters i'll be running a GeForce 8800GT with it and would eventually like to double up and have dual displays.

Thanks all.

Samsung 2494HM 24" Widescreen has a better contrast ratio.

But other than that, they are practically the same. Wanna spend an extra $20 for that and a 1920x1200 resolution??

You probably won't notice the difference tbh.
Thanks all.

I went with the 2494SW's. 2 of them. I figure I can scrounge a nice TV somewhere if I want a TV, and this whole computer was a budget build and the price for the 2942SW was right. These should replace my small 19" Sony monitor very nicely. I've been eyeing a 3 Monitor setup....but thats definitely some time down the road so we shall see then.

Can't wait to get them, unfortunately I have to wait because i'm in Iraq atm LOL...oh the agony.
The 2494HM is one of the really good TN displays in the market, and also one of the expensive ones (comparing the available features and ports on this LCD, etc)... (This screen is about £250 in the UK... damn it!)

The 2494SW is great for that price, very good deal
