Im looking to play World of Warcraft on my laptop. Probably some Modern Warfare 2, and some other games. Which would u guys think is the better laptop for gaming? Will the GTX 260 make all the difference? Or should i go with the better processor and RAM?

Grab the 260M, mate. It'll be leaps and bounds better than the 230M

EDIT:

that Asus laptop would be better than your PC :S Buy a better Pc and sell your existing one, then buy a laptop with the money you get back?

The Asus laptop is better than my sig rig?? Oo
I sure hope not..
Asus, while only having a P8700 compared to the i7 in the HP, is a higer quality notebook with a way better GPU.

I had an HP pavilion DV and hated it, my sister and I both got the same machine back in June 07 and hers has been in for repair 2 times, mine was in 3 before I got rid of it, Bad hinges, bad video boards, bad mobo not powering wireless, etc...

not to mention i couldn't install a clean vista install and have my wireless card work regularly, I only could when I ran XP, Windows 7 or used the recovery discs. otherwise the wireless would fail on me every time.

Go with the Asus, they have the lowest failure rate, while hp has one of the highest. I saw it on a rating chart someone listed a week or 2 ago.

Asus or Alienware.

Alienware is overpriced anyway unless you could find a really good price on eBay. Try looking at my sig for some quality laptops including Asus. Or you might go to Best Buy and look into either an Asus or Gateway FX laptop. I'm also pursuing a gaming laptop to replace this bad Compaq Presario (it's too weak to even play Blu-ray shows properly due to the weak processor and integrated video).

That Asus on Newegg is pretty expensive. Try the Asus G51J-A1 from XoticPC. Smaller screen size but a much better processor (mobile i7). At $1405.53 + free UPS Ground shipping. WoW will be fine, but MW2 might taxed on your system resources. due to the resolution of your screen.

Before you buy, consider looking into getting the Asus G51J-A1... It's got an Intel Core i7 mobile processor and GeForce 260M graphics card. Quad-core with hyperthreading, so 8 logical processors. I just picked one up about a week ago and it's awesome. Comes with Windows 7 Home Premium x64, but I've formatted and managed to install Windows XP Pro (for older games), Windows 7 Ultimate x32 (for newer games) and Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (to fully utilize the 4GB of RAM). I use GAG boot loader on it.

I mostly play Company of Heroes on it at 1920x1080 resolution, with medium-high details. It only lags when there's a ton of explosions in the air. It powers UT2004 Deck-II with 16 bots at an average of 140-160fps, 1920x1080x32bit, *full* details.

Anyways, just some additional food for thought.

And it cost just about the same as the G71 you linked... =P

XoticPC customer support is fantastic. There was a member here who used to work for them before moving here to Georgia. The support has changed since then for the better. You might want to give it a try since they're offering free UPS Ground shipping for Asus laptops. I wouldn't try Sager's website, as complaints have been filed to the BBB about service for their laptops. They're just rebranded Clevo laptops, but the quality is superb. They're priced higher than other laptop brands, but Clevos are more upgradable and user-friendly.

Also consider NP8662 at Xotic. $1450, if 15.4" will work? It has a 260m that is not downclocked like on the Asus. Better build, less thermal issues also.

But yes of the two you link the Asus is the better.

So ordering day is realllly soon.
Im stuck between finally, these last two laptops.

This one has 6gb of RAM but a Intel Q9000 CPU. I liked this one more because of the 17" screen.

This is the one alot of people suggested. The i7 CPU is ftw?

Bottom line, which one would be best for gaming?

The i7 is the better deal. That quad will make the battery life shorter than the i7. Just go for that one, as it is the better deal in terms of specs and reliability.
