X1950Pro.
MY budget is up $300.
is your cpu 478 or 775?
i got a 478 Mobo and i was wondering if i should stick with my 7800GS or go for the X1950 AGP btw is there gonna be a 512 version?
x1950 pro AGP should be just on the $300 mark, I'm not sure about links becuase newegg doesn't work on my computer

X1950 Pro would be your choice if you are sticking with AGP.

A $300 vid card is overkill on a AGP system. I recommend payin' up around $150 and pocketing the rest.

There are 7600GT's available on ebay for the AGP bus. They're likely the fastest thing available around that price point.

If you insist on buying a $300 dollar card though, then by all means pick up a X1950Pro, you can't go faster on AGP.

Yup. I will be getting my copy of Windows Vista on February 27th hopefully.

Maybe I can get a new Sansa e250, and the LOTR 50th Anniversary edition (the books.)

I dunno... that's a lot of money. Luckily, I will be getting the upgrade edition of Vista Ultimate, which will cost $140 less for the same thing. Thank god I have a spare 98, 2000, and XP CD laying around.

EDIT: I reiterate, you should pocket that money, get a job or something, save up more money, and then upgrade during Q2 '07.
