I might be a newbie at this too but I recently downloaded RivaTuner and I have to say, the software is brilliant! I love it! The user-interface is extremely easy to use and the moniter function is great! It tells you everything you need to know about what's going on with your video card, from Core Clock to Core and Ambient temperature. It's superb!<br><br>
I second Modki's reply. Those two threads posted by k0m0d0_dragon, really help shed light on overclocking. Its very helpful.
thx for letting me know how n what to do first ...but i'm so new to tis oveclock stuff until i don't know how to start ...ex: which software to use n wat to do.... N one more Important thing tat i wan to ask is, can overclock damage my cpu in anyways because my dad will crush my head if my cpu crash ...<br />

just download riva tuner or coolbits, then raise the 3d clock speeds easy as that. <br />
If you get artifacts in a game, just go back and lower the speeds a bit, then see if it artifacts again <img src="/images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" class="inlineimg" /><br />
( artifacts are blobs of colour ,you will definately know when it happens )<br />
no it wont affect the cpu at all.
