Need Help Overclocking GeForce2 MX 32 MB running Windows XP

1136 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  tweakboy
Well i'll start out by saying im no Computer noob, but Hardware isn't my forte. (Im better with Coding/Scripting. Im terrified too open my computer to study it.) Ok, well i wouldn't even know what overclocking is if my buddy didnt mention it. I play WoW and my lag always leaves me :swearing:. '

I need an over Clocker for my Graphics Card. It's a NVIDIA GeFore2 MX w/ TV out. Im running Windows XP and my computer model is some kind of Dell. My Computer Tech guy put some RAM in awhile ago but other than that I dont think he did anything. Its gotta be free, cuz' im preety young, and my mom will refuse to pay for anything.

If you need any more information I'll try my best to get it.

Thanks

(Sry about the bad grammer I was only really 1/2 trying...)

I highly doubt that overclocking that ancient GeForce 2 MX would improve performance in WoW.

You should be able to find a better AGP card for like 15 or 20 bucks used.
Will it help me that much?

and Idk that that kind of card is... I hae close to 0 knowledge of computer parts...
how did you find this website lol.

read some wikipedia or something,

try ask.com
sorry about the other users

Welcome to overclock.net. It turns out the GeForce2 MX is to outdated to really overclock and you won't see any improvement in WoW. To help serve you better, we need you to fill out your computer specs. I'll give you a start:

Processor / Motherboard / Ram / Cache Information: CPUZ

Download CPUZ. Look at the CPU / Mainboard / Memory tab and report the information to us.

Yeah that's what you are to fill out. I don't think that you're going to be able to play WoW on that card, you need to look at an upgrade.

If you are unsure of the Processor/RAM, Go to your windows control panel --> System. The initial screen should give you that information. Post it all here please
That is a good starting point.

Then, if you can, go ahead and download CPUZ as suggested and show us the screenshot to provide a little more detailed information.

Sounds like someone needs an ATI 9800 Pro! It's a good AGP card I used to replace MY nvidia geforce2 GTS. Ahh the good ole days... but the prices of them on ebay are way high in my opinion. That card should be no more than $20.

Yes, maybe we can get this guy a upgrade AGP card , also make sure his PSU will like play nice with it heeh,, gl As for your original question, forget about OCing the gf2 mx ,, nothing will happen, if anything it will explode and burn down. Soo don't bother there. That card is not a gaming card.

We can get you a gaming AGP card cant we guys hehe,
