I'm working on a new build since the ASUS M5A97 EVO motherboard in my FX-8350 build died a few weeks ago. I like to do some gaming, Visual Studio Programming and I run Linux VMs from time to time. I just bought the Cooler Master MasterCase MC500P for $115 and the Ryzen 5 2600X for $199.99 last week. The other parts I will be reusing from the last build. I plan on reinstalling Windows to mitigate any issues that I've been seeing in the forums.

I need help selecting an X470 motherboard and RAM (16GB) for this build. I would like to keep the cost of both to $400-$450 and would like the most bang for the buck. I'm leaning toward the MSI X470 Gaming Pro Carbon (non-AC). I'm also considering the ASRock X470 Taichi and the ASUS ROG STRIX X470-F Gaming. The case comes with two 140mm intake fans and one 140mm exhaust fan. I would like to get an addition 2 140mm fans for top exhaust. I would like a good quality board that is good for overclocking RAM, and will hopefully last 4-6 years. I will be running with the cooler that came with the processor and see how the performance is and may look at and AIO solution later on the down the road.

I'm having some decision paralysis because no matter what forums I look at, people are having problems with boards from all manufacturers. I also know that Ryzen likes fast RAM with low latencies (Samsung B die), but there are so many different kits out there, I just don't know how to select one. I don't need the RAM to have RGB.

I am planning on getting a 2K 27 inch 144 Hz monitor later this year. I will most likely be upgrading my graphics card some time next year.

Any suggestions from this community would be greatly appreciated.
