Need Help please mobo/cpu issue

370 Views 12 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  IntelConvert
hello i just recently bought a Gigabyte ga-ep45-ud3r and a e7400 cpu
links below

i was told with this set up ill be bottlenecking my rig up a lot...because the mobo supports 1600/1333MHz and my cpu is only at 1066MHz...is this going to be a problem to my system, sorry for such a newbish question
also with my ram they said... since its only ddr2 800 instead of the DDR2 1366+/1066 that my board handles...i really hope this doesnt bottleneck my computer if so should i return the ram/cpu for an upgrade to 1333+ on the cpu side and 1066+ on the ram side? thanks much in advance for the help i appreciate it a lot.

I would think the Vid card will bottleneck you first. Don't worry about it till you have issues.

i havent yet put the system together...still waiting on the mobo/cpu/OS but in my sig is what i have. but you think the video card might bottleneck the system?
i run the E5200 wich is an 800mhz FSB CPU stock. i have it OC'ced to have a 1066 rated FSB and my RAM is 1066 too. and i dont have any issues in games

and the above poster is right, ur 9500GT will slow games down before ur CPU will. the 9600GT would have been a better choice. or the 9800GT for a few extra dollars.

and like hueristic said, dont worry till there is a problen, ie: dont fix it if its not broke
yea the 9500gt is only for a little bit ill update shortly gtx260 or better within a couple months just needed a cheap card for the time being i have online courses that i have to do and old comp went bad on me...
but hopefully soon ill purchase a 260 or better.

LOL! the build i just replaced was based on the Asus A7n8X Socket A i had. athlon XP 3000+ 2.16ghz! rofl!

i know where ur coming from. ive kept up to date working on my girl's comp and my other friends, but i understand where ur coming from.

dont worry about all these issues u hear, see how it runs when u put it together.

computers these days are more forgiving than those of the past. u dont need a college degree to fix a computer anymore. my girlfriends brother wouldnt let me build him a computer cause he said i didnt know what i was doing cause i didnt go to school for computers.

rofl.

Yeah I wasn't aware you needed minimum rep to buy.

yea, u need 35 rep. most people here have 300+ posts and still dont have 35 rep. i understand the requirement is there so people just dont come, buy our stuff, and leave, but i think a little re-working of the system is needed. but im not an admin, so o well.

i play wow too. highest details on my 1680x1050 22" widescreen. i built this comp cause my old one couldnt handle that resolution. plus i had some video editing stuff to do for school and it showed me how old my computer was.

idk if that 9500GT will do highest details, but it should be fine for most occasions. i know a guy running games on a 9400GT and hes happy. course he runs at 1024x768 and has never had anything better than that 9400GT. guess he doesnt know what hes missing

ahha thats funny that he wouldn't let u build a system because of that...seems like common sense for the most part...just been a while need to get back into things but thanks for the help. and i hope everything runs well even though its a super low budget computer...the next one i build ill make sure there isnt a budget lol. start saving up
