hi guys, just recently got my i7 930 + gigabyte ex58-extreme
issue is i have trouble pushing to 4ghz.
my voltages and setting iirc for 4ghz was:
blk: 182
uncore:12x
Cpu pll : 1.88v
Cpu ioh : 1.2v
Cpu ich : 1.2
ram voltage @ 1.65v
vcore @ 1.3v
the temps for each core doesnt go above 70C
is there something i left out?

nope. thats during idle @ stock. my ambients are quite high thou .

My vcore for 4.2GHz is only 1.325v, 1.35v might be excessive.

Try increasing the vcore in smaller incrememnts (assuming you went straight from 1.30v to 1.35v). You might find the sweet spot somewhere between 1.31v and 1.33v.

Just keep stress testing and upping the voltage to the next increment until it is stable. I would be very suprised if it was higher than 1.34v.

*Yes I know each chip is different, but I still think 4.0GHz should be < 1.35v*

EDIT: You could also try lowering the voltage to around 1.275v, that may get you some stability. Too much volts can cause instability, same as too little

ok found my problem :S
turns out i need my uncore 2x of my ram divider. :X
now at 4ghz @ 1.264v with vdroop
