Hey guys I just received my x-fi extreme music yesterday. I stayed up trying to fine tune everything but I have only gotten confused. Too many options to choose from. One thing that really confused me was X-Fi CMSS®-3D option. When you enable it you have an option to set it to front or surround. I have 5.1 surround speakers so does that mean I leave it on surround? Was wondering if someone could help me tweak my sound card to get the best quality sound

The CMSS 3D option, to my understanding, is meant for use with stereo headphones. This feature helps distinguish the fronts from the surrounds.

The only way you can get the best sound out of it is through trial and error. We can't tell you how to tweak it because we don't know what kind of room you'll be using it in, distances from the speakers and what kind of speakers they are.

You really shouldn't need the CMSS 3D on since you are on a 5.1 setup.
