Simple yes/no question pertaining to gaming. Standard resolutions, lets say 1080p just for consistency.

In terms of CPU/GPU, specifics irrelevant. You have a rig in which your GPU usage is pinned at 99% max load. Will you ever gain noticeable framerates by upgrading your CPU?

Thats basically what my friend is trying to say, and I disagree. Hence the poll


My point of view is: even if you're on that 7600GT, and you're already pushing it at max load... upgrading the CPU won't be able to push it any further. The GPU is the painter, and the CPU is... well, a crazy nutjob flinging blank canvas' at your face. Just because hes throwing them faster, doesn't mean you're going to crank out more art if you're already working as fast as you can
