Need help with a small PC build -- graphics card suggestions

Hey guys, I'm putting together a PC for the first time, not doing anything crazy or any overclocking, just upgrading what I have. I have a mobo and I'm looking at a CPU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103771) now I need a graphics card. The mobo supports PCI-E x16 and I want to spend around $150. I don't want a GPU that is ridiculously powerful and isn't necessary considering the CPU (2.8GHz dual core), and I'll probably only have 1 or 2GB of average speed RAM. Any suggestions?

Thanks for any info.

Not too powerful and kinda cheap. There are several other versions of the 4850 from other companies, some are cheaper than this. I'd look around and find the style and cooling you want since the performance is relatively the same for every model.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161244 or you can try to snag a 4870 or 4890 when they come down in price soon. The GTX260 should also drop some more soon as well so if you wait a few weeks you should be good.

-Sapphire 4830 $99.99 (484.99 with MIR)
-Sapphire 4850 $144.99 ($134.99 with MIR)
-4870's are just a little over $150
-EVGA 9800 GTX+ $154.99 ($134.99 with MIR)
-EVGA GTS 250 $129.99

These are going to be about the best choices for what you want and in your price range.

He definitely doesn't need a 4870/90 or a 260, it would be overkill for 2gigs and that processor. 4850 will suit him fine, especially if he's using the monitor in his sig rig with that resolution.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, +rep to all of you. As for the monitor, the one I listed is for my UMPC, the Sony VAIO UX180. The one I'm using on my desktop is 1280x1024.
Yep, I agree. The 4850 will suit you just fine.
what's your mobo?

try getting this cpu instead of that:

then get a 4830 or 4850. you can wait for the launch of the 4770, it's just $100 and it performs very close to a $130 4850.
