Heya,

I just gotten my Corsair CX430 power supply box and I am unsure where some of the connectors suppose to go too.
I have connected the big one to the Motherboard, the 2 sata pins to the hard drive and disk drive but now I have 4 more connectors and I don't know where to put them at. I looked on Youtube and couldn't find anything with connectors.
I took 2 pics of the cables ( sorry they are a little dark, I hope it can be seen ) and I numbered the cords on the pic.

And also the blue 12 volt button, I don't have a connector for that one, there is no 4 pin connector on those cables.
Can someone pls help me and walk me through this, I am so lost. Thanks in advance.

You should have that big one going in the motherboard like you already do, and then you should have either a 4 pin or 6 pin connector to plug in on the other side of the mobo.

EDIT: Yup looks like you got a 4pin picture there. The 4 pin connect goes in it. It should have a label on the connector saying P2 or something similar.

EDIT2: Wait. I'm an idiot. You don't have a 4 pin connector?

You say there is no 4-pin? Gimmie a minute...

The blue 12 volt button?

Anyway, cable "2" in your pic provides power to graphics cards that need a power cable. The GT 220 doesn't need one though. So disregard the PCI-E cable.

The other cable (the one you labeled "4") looks like it's another 6-pin PCI-E connector. Does it say "PCI-E" on it?

The one you labeled "1" looks like a cable that's typically used to power floppy drives.

Yes, they snap off, you'll probablly find an 8-pin that can "snap" to become a 6-pin, and a 6-pin that can snap to become a 4-pin. That's your winner right there.

Oh lawd, ok pic 1 is a 4 pin and pic 3 is a flat 4 pin, where do these go? I unplugged the volt cord from the old power supply on the pic with the ?...I am lost, lol

Wait a minute... according to Corsair's website, the CX430 does not have the ability to power a 4-pin CPU power connector. It only has an 8-pin! It's not a 4+4 pin!

Your main motherboard connection (the 24-pin connector) is probablly also split so that it can power a 20-pin mobo if needed. Corsair is versatile and reliable. I would, however, like to note that the 430CX is a very low powered model... don't do anything silly, like try to SLI or Crossfire it..unless you like busted capacitors...

The cable labeled "1" is for devices like a floppy drive.

The cables labeled 2 and 3 are for graphics cards (the GT 220 doesn't need these cables).

What does the cable labeled "4" look like? Is it an 8-pin?

The one you labeled "1" appears to be for devices like floppy drives.

The one you labeled 2 and 3 is for graphics cards. Number 3 is added when using a graphics card that needs an 8-pin connector instead of a 6-pin.

So what does cable #4 in your pic look like in person?

Does it look like it's designed to break in half so that it's split into two 4-pin connectors? If so, then do this and then connect it to the 4-pin connector on the motherboard.

Ok so you say I should break some off to have a 4 pin of the big one to put into the blue ? thingy?

I can't tell for certain, but it looks like in this build, the builder took one of the 4+4 pins and 'centered' it into the 4-pin CPU power slot....

...I don't know what to say about this.... Have you looked through your owner's manual?

If it is designed to snap in half, then do it. Then plug it into the 4-pin connector that is on the motherboard by the CPU.

If it's NOT designed to snap in half, then don't do it.

The 4+4 will NOT snap in half (it's the one that has eight pins total and doesn't have anything else branching off it's cable). It looks like you just use the inner 4 pins and it's good to go.

...Disclaimer alert?

Corsair's site says this on the FAQ & Support page of the CX430:

"Where’s the 4-pin EPS/ATX 12v connector that I need for my motherboard?

Our power supplies ship with an 8-pin connector that splits in half. Use half of this connector for the 4-pin EPS/ATX 12v connector on your motherboard."

So that's why I'm asking.
