Hello,

i have a hyundai p571 laptop with phenix bios running with a 2.6ghz celeron desktop processor. i have bought a pentium 4 2.4ghz socket 478 that my computer supports (it is written in the manual) but when i place the p4 in my laptop it detects it and runs but the clock is automatically set to 1.9ghz and i would like to know how can i change this to 2.4ghz as should be. my bios does not show any overclocking attributes as written in the manual in this page and i need help.

thank you very much in advance.

Well, That means you got the 800FSB edition 2.4Ghz P4.

Return it and see if you can get a 533FSB P4 2.4Ghz, Then it will run at the proper speed.

The Celeron thats in there runs off of a 100FSB, While the 2.4, a 200FSB, Which when defaulted down to 100FSB = 1.8Ghz.

Okay, Now that I've got all this down, I think I should add MORE! lol

Its thermal-throttling down I guess, Try running a program like prime95 then check the CPU and we'll go from there.
