I have a dual cpu intel mother board with two slot type P2 350/512/100/2.0v s1 and four sticks of 128 meg pc100 dimm ram, and what I tried to do was install two p3 933/256/133/1.7v s1 and two 1gb,sync,100MHz,CL2,ECC sticks of ram replcing the old cpu's and ram but nothing worked, the computer turned on but there was nothing on the screen. I put all my old stuff back and every thing works. The mother board is a phoenix bios version 4.0 release 6.0. I would like to know if I can upgrade to the new stuff or not??
, if I can upgrade how do I go about it??
THE HELP WOULD BE GLADLY APPRECIATED, THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First you need to go to user cp and fill out your system specs. If your main ssystem is not the computer you are asking about then provide me with the motherboard make and model number. You can go to the downloads section of this website and download cpu-z and the motherboard tab will on cpuz should give mr the info I need to start searching. You can also give me the info from the other tabs, that may help.
I have done some reading and noticed you were trying to put 2x1GB sticks in, well your board will not recognize that much. I can't find the tech sheet on Intel's website but I believe that board will only support 512 or maybe 1GB of PC100 ram or PC133 that is backwards compatible. Also that bios is the latest I could find. I will do some more research and try to give you a better answer tomorrow.
