The 4k Effective Memory Clock is what sold me on this card. Don't ask me for any real life stats cause my bild is not complete and anything I give you would be next to meaningless right now. I'll have my bild up and running in about a month or little longer depending on when my school refund check gets here.

If you can, wait till the fermis roll out and see how ati reacts to their retail pricing.

I agree with goobergump. With the release of the GTX 4xx series prices are bound to drop. With that said I guess it all depends on how confident/patient you are with the release of the GTX 4xx series. Right now I would suggest a GTS 250 as a budget card.

I have a BFG GTS 250 1GB edition, it runs ~$120 and it is solid GPU. The extra memory helps with higher resolutions (1920x1080) and it runs both L4D2 and CODMW2 easily. That's just my two cents though.

Good luck with your choice! Keep us posted.

HD 5770 would be your best bet. The GTX 200 seem to be disappearing. The problem with going with a GTX 260 especially if its like a EVGA or XFX is that what if they don't have any more 260s.

Bucking the trend here, but a 4870 would work just fine. And it would be cheaper than a 260, or a few of the other suggestions here.

i was thinking of getting a used 4890 for around 150ish?
and can a gtx250 really handle l4d2 at 1920x1080? and maintain good fps?
anything below 80 fps without v-sync looks really choppy and laggy to me.
