Ok heres the problem, i have a sony dvd recorder down stairs on my tv. Im trying to use one of my DVD RW's that i use with the recorder but the problem im having is that i can not get the disc to format so i can burn files on to the dvd from my computer. What programs will format the disc so that i can burn files on it?

Raffy, I would suggest using Nero to burn files onto the dvd from your computer.

But it does cost some...

Also if you want you want a free program, I would recommend IMGBurn, it's great and can do a wide variety of formats.

i already use nero, but i need a program to reformat the disc first because windows and nero's defaulting options dont work.
