Highest I can just like everyone else. lol My goal is to see a 1GHZ increase stable though, anything after that would be a welcome bonus.

About what kind of budget do you have for RAM?

Well depends on how good these ebay auctions go for, my priority was getting the 8800GTS and tuniq tower120 knocked out first, which I got teh TT120 already and i got enough for the 8800GTS. THen next I was gonna get the mobo and lastly the ram. As far a budget, how high does ram get? Was thinking either 2GB dual channel or 4GB dual channel but I see most of you guys run 2GB on 2 sticks in dual channel.

2gb dual channel is about hte mainstream thing in gaming machines nowadays. i think some games are coming out soon or already out that recommend 2gb and dual channel is just another +

So are those the best out there? And which one should I go with? Also will that ram be compatible with the 680i board im getting? Im running PC5300 now on my current board.

which 680i board are you gettin, one of em was supposedly blowing sata ports and killing ram. those should all work with 680i im just saying you might want to make sure the 680i board your getting isnt the one killing ram. im pretty sure all those sticks use Micron D9GMH chips which will get you a very high overclock, i would say go with the crucial ballistix since their ddr2 1000 but thats just my opinion. chozart or someone could probably give you a better opinion on it though

I havent decided on what 680i board to go with just yet. Still researching on that one. Thats why I wanted to get ram last off. Seen alot of folks using the EVGA680i but I just want the best board for overclocking period.

The only problem with DDR2-1000 is that if you're not getting up in that crazy high FSB range, you're often better off with a lower speed product with tighter timings. That's why I started off with asking about the anticipated/hoped for OC. Say the CPU OCs well, maybe up to 3.5 GHz, that equates to 438 MHz or DDR875 speeds at the stock multiplier. Any good DDR2-800 would handle that just fine. If you drop the multi, however, and have a board that can really fly, going with DDR2-1000 would be a great option.

So what board would you recommend?

I'm not up on the 680i boards at the moment, so you'd do better listening to others on those. Barring the cutting edge boards, I'd probably go with a P5B Deluxe and really crank up the frequency on that CPU maybe with a 7x multi.

get the supertalent or the team xtreme ram. both are insane overclockers.

Also, for the board, personally I'd get an asus p5b deluxe. But that's just me....look at reviews and stuff for the 680i chipset boards, and see which one gets the highest FSB (hopefully over 500)
