as you can see from my sig rig, i run a evga 560 ti (448) . i have a 28'' monitor thats does 1920 x 1200 and i really dont want to cut down the resolution on my games to gain a couple fps. i have a budget of $350 , but would like to spead less if possible. i think all i really need is some more vram? here's some cards i've been looking at...

msi 7870 hawk

sapphire 7870 xt

i have thought about these two cards, but i'm trying not to spend my whole budget.

evga 660 ti 3 gig ftw (not sure this card can even use 3 gig)

sapphire 7950 boost

all i really need is playable fps without breaking the bank. can a 7870 get me there? or will i need one of the stronger cards?

The sapphire 7950 Boost is your best bet

The 7870 will get you around 30% slower than a 7950.

i was fearing this. so you guys dont think the sapphire 7870 xt could even pull this off? if not, which 7950's should i be looking at? i'm guessing the 660 ti isnt even worth the investment?

newegg's selection is pretty slim on the 7950's. is there anywhere else i can get one of these with the games to?

newegg has a good collection of HD 7950 cards. if you are willing to spend USD 350 you could go for the HIS HD 7950 iceq x2 boost. but check if it will fit in your case. its 31.1 cm long (12.2 inches). HD 7970 PCB with 8 + 6 pin power connectors. more power phases compared to ref HD 7950 for better stability and lower temps with extreme overclocks. unlocked voltage. but its costly at USD 350.

if you want good value for your money go for the Sapphire HD 7950 boost .good dual x cooler. unlocked voltage. 29 cm long. superbiiz has a good price on it. newegg is out of stock. very good user reviews

the sapphire card you listed is a newer version of the sapphire HD 7950 boost with a smaller PCB (27 cm) . also newegg does not show the game coupons with that card. the display connectors are different compared to older version.

so get the older sapphire HD 7950 boost with the game coupons.

i've always used sapphire in the past and never had any issues. the reviews on his card look really good, im just a little nervous to buy one. i see there warranty is the same as sapphires(2 years). seems like they really went out on the cooler to.

if you are comfortable and familiar with sapphire go with them. the sapphire card is also much better value for money. the his card was at 325 before the game coupon offers by AMD . would have been irresistible at USD 325. but at 350 not so much.

compare the final price with tax and shipping from superbiiz, amazon, newegg and pick the card / deal which you like.
