Alright I just bought a 790FX motherboard from an OCN member and now need to build a system around it.

I need to know whether it is better to get a X3 710 or X3 720 and why.

I also need some GPU recommendations, I would like a 4850x2 but would my PSU be up to the task?

Any ideas are welcomed as I haven't had an AMD system since the 939 days

You might be pushing it with your PSU + 4850x2.

ehh, I meant OC potential of both and if it is a problem I will buy a new PSU, I have seen the power draws on 4870x2 systems be under 500W so I may be pushing it but I will try

im planning on keeping my 800mhz and if oc only a little bit because my ram gets hot and unstable @ 92X-ish mhz

Well both will overclock ok, but the 710 will probably overclock 200-400MHz less. For example look at the 920 and 940 cpus, most people with the 920 can only hit 3.6-3.8 max, while the 940 can go higher. Since you only have to adjust the multiplier on the Black Edition processors, it makes it way easier to overclock since you don't have to stress your mobo and memory when you go higher.
