Anyone got any suggestions?
Or even a different burning program i can get that allows me to burn any format (avi, wma)
Can't you just burn as a Data disk?
isoburn. Or even Windows DVD Maker is good.
Click Nero Startsmart, go to Photo & Video, and choose "Make Your Own DVD-Video." Then just click "Add Video files...", and go from there.
Use nero vision which should be in nero 9 ultra

I like this program convertXtoDVD, it converts virtually any video file and burns it automatically to a dvd for you

nero is too complicated at time and its video conversion is behind the times IMO (very slow)

Hey Blasphemy,
I don't know if you ever got an answer to your question about your video format conversion using NERO, but I use NERO for some of that stuff, however the program I use for most of my Video conversion and I recommend whole heartedly is "AVS Video Converter". I have been using it for years with outstanding results. Google it, research it and take a look at it at http://www.avs4you.com/ ; It's great, easy to use and has a whole lotta stuff that comes with it. For most of my audio conversion, I use Nero, but when Nero dosen't work for me, I use the free "Mediacoder" at http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/ and just navagate to "Downloads". Let me know if this works here or at [email protected].

Hope this helps, take care

Bobby

In order to play AVI/WMV on a DVD player, you need to convert it to what DVD players play (vob etc)

use ConvertXtoDVD and it will encode pretty much any format to DVD files and it burns it for you. A DVD player doesn't have the decoders for playing AVI/WMV directly off a Data Disk/DVD
Download and install Nero Codec Pack 1.0, and you should be able to playback or burn many extra formats not usually supported by Nero. AVI should be supported already by Nero though.
It contains these plugins:-

Audio Plugins:
· AAC/MP4 AudioCoding.com Advanced Audio Coding
· AAC/MP4 PsyTEL Advanced Audio Coding
· APE Monkey's Audio Lossless Compression
· ASF/WMA Microsoft Windows Media Audio 9 Lossy/Lossless
· FLA (FLAC) Free Lossless Audio Codec
· PAC (LPAC) Lossless Predictive Audio Compression
· MP3 Lame MPEG-1 Layer-3
· MPC MusePack
· OFR OptimFROG Lossless Audio Coder
· RM/RA RealNetworks RealMedia/RealAudio
· SHN SoftSound Shorten Lossless Compression
· SPX (Speex) Open Source Audio Compression For Speech
· WV WavPack Hybrid Lossless Compression
· MP3Pro encoder/decoder

Video Plugins:
· MPEG-2 SVCD
· MPEG-2 DVD
