Hello.

I'am currently in the process of updating my network, I do a lot of 1080P video streaming and gaming and run multiple devices all at the same time. ( Like most people ).

I have recently been considering to get CAT 7 shielded ethernet cables to go from my modem to my router, and possibly CAT 7 cables going from my modem/router to a computer. However I need some help picking out what modem and router to get. I believe the CAT 7 cables I fine.

I have considered this router. Hawking Technology Hi-Gain Dual-Band Wireless-N Router (HD45R) http://www.amazon.com/Hawking-Technology-Dual-Band-Wireless-N-HD45R/dp/B007B5PR1O
I have yet to fine a modem that I like.

I have an amateur understanding of networking, so please help guide me through a good upgrade.

I've never heard of that brand of Router...

My recommendation would be the higher end Netgear of TP-Link routers.

As far as CAT7 goes, overkill if you ask me. Full CAT6 with a decent gigabit switch and you're set.
