Alright, so here is the issue.

Today my internet complete shut off. It was going back and forth between only wireless and wired, never both.

Using a D-Link DIR-615 router.

After a bunch of changing wires, one of the computers got internet, but the others on the network did not. I have tried a second router (same model), as well as a network switch, but never got any internet.

I have no wireless in my house, and only 1 computer on the network that has internet. Please help (I am typing this on my laptop tethered to my iPhone!).

Anyways, I called Rogers (my ISP), and basically there is nothing wrong with the modem or anything (which I agree with after the one computer started working again).

Anyways, I am kinda in a rush right now (gotta get to work), but I will be back in like 3-4 hours, so please post a bunch of ideas, and I will post back when I get back from work.

could just be Windows 7 i have Ultimate x64 too and my internet decides when it works, sometimes it connects but i can't browse, then it says it's got an invalid ip and other times it says there's something wrong with the DNS server, so now i'm using my old router which seems to work more.

Seems to have been running stable for a few hours now though

Try these in the command prompt

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew
netsh winsock reset

Log on to your router via IP 192.168.1.1. Then try to find a setting called Clone MAC. Clone your MAC Address and you should have internet on all the computers in your network. Cloning your MAC is necessary for most routers with some ISPs.

A common symptom of a router that does not have a Cloned MAC is that only one computer on the network has access to the internet.

1: Unplug the router from the modem, plugging the modem directily into your laptop (for its portability). This is just to ensure the stability of your internet.

2: You say only one PC on the network has internet? I would check the functionality of ALL ports on the router. Also, check overall functionality of the router.

3: You tried multiple LAN devices? Ensure you reset the modem each time a new LAN device is attached by unplugging it.

4: Your ISP may limit your DHCP pool. If you connect an unauthorized LAN device, i.e.; one they didn't sell you, they could have wisened up and made it so only one IP gets 'net.
{ABE} As Shadow Ugz said, clone the MAC address. This, IIRC, will circumvent this.

This is just some basics, hope it helped.

FIXED!

Decided to check the cable between the router and modem, and works now. Usually that is the last thing people check, but I decided to do it first, and glad I did, saved me a lot of headache, now I can re set up my home network as it is all reset :swearing:

Tried everything most of you said (that is unless I already tried it), but none of it worked, anyways, I gave you all rep.
