Why not go s939? I'm in the same position as you are, I'm going to get an A64 system too and I'm really considering s939

Yiffy said that a 939 3500 Winchester was the equivilent of a 754 3000 Newcastle

3200 NewCastle**
Same clock speed, and trust me, the dual channel memory make very litte difference, and once you start overclocking the 754 and get its memory bus up there, they become identicle.

well yeah, if ur gonna go 754 i'd say go clawhammer dtr. as for 939... winchester all teh way. the only bad thing is there's not a 939 nf3 lanparty board yet and the nf4's can get kinda pricey.

The 1MB of Cache offers a big boost in performance and it scales up with the clock speed. No ones figured the exact cause of the recent deaths of our chips yet so I wouldn't go recommending against them.
