Alright so my friend is building a new PC and he already has the GPU and mobo. He wants to stick to a white theme as well (picky I know) and was curious if the rest of his parts is the best he can get for this kind of cash.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor

CPU Cooler: Phanteks PH-TC12DX_BK 68.5 CFM CPU Cooler

Motherboard : Asus SABERTOOTH Z87 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard HAS

GPU: Inno3d iChill GTX 770 HerculeZ x3 Ultra HAS

Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Disk

Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Case: Fractal Design Define R4 w/Window (White) ATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply: PC Power & Cooling Silencer Mk III 850W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V Power Supply

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 Professional (OEM) (64-bit)

Monitor: Asus PB238Q 23.0" Monitor

He has $1800 USD to spend on the parts. Monitor and OS is needed as well. All parts will be bought in the US. Use newegg if possible. Microcenter not in the area.

All help will be greatly appreciated.

Looks fine, if it were me I would go with a 4770k minimum, but it probably won't matter too much. You won't need more than a 650w PSU though.
I'm running a pair of 770's with a 660w power supply with room to spare... 850w will run tri-SLI.

I'd steer clear of Corsair kits. I've had 6 defective sets in the last year. Finally ended up going with other brands that are more consistent, GSkill, Patriot, Kingston or Mushkin.
What about a 750w psu i7 3770k(250 usd at micro cenrter) with msi mpower(170 at newegg) and hd 7970 from 289 at neewegg
