Just put up a budget build for a friend ($650). I could sure use some tips/ideas for improvement/value.

If he isn't going to overclock the 2500 is the better choice, with that mobo OC'ing isn't a big possibility. He could even go down to 2400 and be completely fine, it's not even that big of an fps hit (http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/core-i5-2500-2400-2300_7.html#sect0). The PSU has decent reviews all around but a few bad cases where people said it came DOA. RAM is cheap but really nice, GPU is fine for anything he will throw at it, you could move down to a 6850 which is pretty close to performance and ~$30 cheaper. Overall, if he wants to OC in the future he needs a better MOBO, but I think a 2500/2400 will be completely fine and its a huge upgrade from his lappy. ICEMAN!

2500K is solid but like they said, dont expect any crazy OC from that MOBO. I like the MSIs alittle better in that price range.

I like the Antec BP550 Plus 550W better than the Rosewill one you have. Its only $10 more (could always save $10 with the 2400K) but that Rosewill would probably be ok. Regardless id still go with a more reputable brand if you can.
