just put in a gigabyte MA790X-UD4 motherboard with amd phenom II 810, with ati 4870 video card. I power it on and everything lights up fans work CD drive works However i dont get Bios screen!!!! What could be wrong?

Martyrdom, are you getting any beep codes after the case is powered on? First thing that comes to mind is a grounding issue with the board. This has happened to me way to many times. Remove the board from the case, check all of the standoffs and make sure they are all properly screwed in. You could even try placing the board on a non-static surface (outside the case) to see if it POST's that way. When testing I usually only run the essentials (processor, board, video card and PSU). Disconnect everything else such as hard drives, optical drives, card readers, lights, fans ect.
Double check and make sure the clear cmos jumper is not in the clear position. If you are getting beep codes upon start-up then that is good news. I would then try a different video card to see if you can get a display.
