Hey guys I'm new here so I apologize if this was the wrong section to post this. I looked through the numerous topics and this seemed to be the best one.

Anyways, I'm somewhat familiar with building desktop computers (I have never actually made my own) and I've decided to finally take that step and try out building one myself. For the past month I've been looking at some parts and trying to figure out a good gaming computer that will be great for the future (I know parts get outdated so fast though).

This is my build and I was wondering if you all could just look it over so I'm sure I haven't missed anything or picked a component that does not match with another. Like I said I'm totally new to building one. Thank you for taking your time to help me out!

Thanks again for the help. The only thing I wasn't totally loving was the motherboard because it seems that ASUS has terrible tech support from what I was reading. I may get a side fan for the case as well. Still up in the air though.

If you think anything in this is overkill please let me know, however I will say that I do like to get up to date parts so I won't have to replace them for a long time. Thanks!

Drop the i7 and get an i5-2500k. It is the same without HT, so no difference in games. Also, I think that same graphics card is on amazon for cheaper + free shipping.

Thanks, I'll definitely check that out. So an i5-2500k will run the same as an i7? I had no idea.

I do, I'll have to look into that as well. Is pro worse than home premium or better? I never really understood the difference so I just went with what I gathered from a website.

It will run games the same, if you were video editing, that would be a different story. HT does not help with games, making i5-2500k the best choice for a gaming CPU.

How? I know Microsoft only offered upgrades last year and not full versions. Link or source please?
