hay guys,

i was wondering if anyone had experience with putting a newer 45nm cpu into an older 580x motherboard (m2r32-mvp is what i have) i saw that the m2n guys have had luck doing it with the nvidia chipsets. and this is sort of the bastard brother of the m2n series, and i have heard that a couple of people have had luck with the m2r but others have not. what i want to do is upgrade to an athlon II 250 if it will let me oc it, or maybe a phII. i know they are not on the approved cpu list, but that's why i came here

tldr: can i put an athlon II/phII in my m2r32?

Why not break some ground here and find out? Get the 250 and plug it in. I wouldn't push my luck with the Phenom II though.

If it doesn't work, take it back. Just flash to the latest BIOS first though.
